Enter the World's Original Marmalade Awards
A friend has invited you to do this with them.
Each year home cooks from around the world post a jar of marmalade to Dalemain Mansion in Cumbria, in the north of England, to be judged in the Homemade Awards. The homemade contest is for non-commercial makers, and the entry fee goes to hospice care.

How to start
- Read the competition entry page on the Dalemain site for this year's categories, rules and closing date.
- Make a batch of citrus marmalade and set aside your best-looking jar for each category you fancy.
- List your ingredients on the entry form when the competition opens, and post the jar to Dalemain well before the deadline.
Where to go
We opened this link on 7 October 2026 and found it to be what we say. Dates, places and prices are on the official page, where they stay up to date.
Plan this
Pick a day, or a month, and we will set out how to get ready, step by step, with a date and a reason for each. Events have fixed dates and entry or ticket deadlines. Physical events add a training plan from our guidance engine, and its length is set by the engine, not by the date you would like.
