Draw on location with Urban Sketchers
A friend has invited you to do this with them.
Urban Sketchers is a worldwide network of local chapters, each a community that meets to sketch on location and share the results. The organisation says it never charges its members to attend a sketch session, so a sketchbook and a pen are enough to take part.

How to start
- Search the Urban Sketchers chapter map for a chapter near you.
- Follow that chapter's blog or social media group to find the date and place of its next sketch session.
- Pack a sketchbook and a pen, turn up, and share your drawing with the group at the end.
Where to go
We opened these links on 8 October 2026 and found them to be what we say. Dates, places and prices are on the official page, where they stay up to date.
Plan this
Pick a day, or a month, and we will set out how to get ready, step by step, with a date and a reason for each. The hard part of a day out is the timing: the right season, tickets and getting there. The plan watches the calendar for you.
