Join a community orchestra or band
A friend has invited you to do this with them.
Playing your part inside a full ensemble is a different thing entirely from practising alone at home. Leisure-time orchestras, jazz bands and other groups run across the UK, so an instrument sitting in a cupboard has somewhere to go.

How to start
- Use the Making Music site to look for a group near you.
- Contact one group and ask whether you can sit in on a rehearsal.
- Take your instrument along to a rehearsal and play.
Where to go

Plan this
