Join a table tennis session
A friend has invited you to do this with them.
Table tennis packs spin, angles and split-second decisions into a space the size of a dining table, and a rally can be enjoyable at any standard. Clubs and social sessions lend bats, so all you need is a pair of trainers.

How to start

- Ask the club when it holds social or beginners' sessions and whether bats are lent.
- Play a few friendly games first, then ask a club coach to look at your grip and serve.
