Play walking rugby

Walking rugby keeps the oval ball and the passing but removes the tackling, and every player has to walk at all times. Sussex Rugby, a county rugby union, describes it as an active, competitive passing game open to former players and to people who have never played.

How to start

  1. Search England Rugby's Find Rugby tool by town or postcode and filter for non-contact rugby.
  2. Contact the nearest club and ask whether it runs walking rugby sessions and when newcomers can join.
  3. Turn up in trainers or boots and comfortable kit, and ask which version of the rules the club plays.
