Walk the streets of Pompeii
A friend has invited you to do this with them.
Pompeii was buried by the eruption of AD 79, and today you can walk its excavated streets, go inside its open houses and see the plaster casts shown in the park's exhibition on the eruption. Archaeologists are still digging there, so new finds keep being announced.

How to start
- Buy your ticket from the park's official site; tickets carry each visitor's name, and entry is by time slot with a daily limit.
- Choose an entrance, Porta Marina or Piazza Anfiteatro, and think about the park's own 90-minute guided tours, Civic Pompeii from Porta Marina Superiore or Daily Pompeii from Piazza Anfiteatro.
- Bring only a small bag (30 x 30 x 15 cm at most) and check which houses are open on your day, as each building has its own hours.

Plan this
Pick a day, or a month, and we will set out how to get ready, step by step, with a date and a reason for each. The hard part of a day out is the timing: the right season, tickets and getting there. The plan watches the calendar for you.
