Walk the Cateran Yomp

The Cateran Yomp asks teams to walk up to 54 miles in 24 hours through the Perthshire hills from Blairgowrie, with shorter 22 and 36 mile options. The Army Benevolent Fund, a charity, organises it and says it is based on a long-distance military training march, and civilians can enter.

How to start

  1. Read the Army Benevolent Fund's Cateran Yomp page and choose the 22, 36 or 54 mile distance.
  2. Register a team, or enter alone and let the organisers pair you with other solo entrants.
  3. Build up to long days on foot over rough ground, including at least one walk in the dark with a head torch.
