Ride a velodrome track

A velodrome's banked wooden track looks like a wall from the bottom, and riding round it on a fixed wheel bike is unlike any cycling you can do on the road. Lee Valley VeloPark in London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park runs coached taster sessions on its 250m track, with a bike, helmet and gloves included.

How to start

  1. Read the Velodrome Taster details on the Lee Valley VeloPark page, including the height and weight requirements.
  2. Book a taster session and arrive at reception in good time, as latecomers cannot ride.
  3. Wear a top that covers your shoulders, and bring cycling shoes if you have them or trainers if not.
