Finish a GORUCK event

Rucking means covering ground on foot with a weighted rucksack, and GORUCK, a private company, sells places on team events built around it, from city rucks to its GORUCK Challenge. The company says the Challenge is led by its Cadre, whom it describes as decorated combat veterans of Special Operations, and that every finisher earns a patch.

How to start

  1. Browse the events listing on the GORUCK site and pick a short ruck near you as a first event.
  2. Check the event page for the distance and the weight you are expected to carry.
  3. Walk regularly with a loaded rucksack, starting light and adding weight over several weeks.
