Get back on a tennis court

Tennis is one of the few sports you can pick up again after decades away and find the strokes waiting for you, a little rusty. Park courts, group classes and social sessions mean you need neither a club membership nor a regular partner to play.

How to start

  1. Use the LTA's Book a tennis court and group class tools in Britain, or the USTA's Find a Court and Find a Coach tools in the US.
  2. Book a beginners' or returners' group session, or a free park tennis session where rackets are provided.
  3. Wear proper court shoes and hit gently for the first few sessions.
