Volunteer with the NHS
A friend has invited you to do this with them.
The NHS has a single website for volunteering, where its organisations advertise roles meant to improve the experience of patients and their families. You search by postcode, and some of the roles are remote, so they can be done from home.

How to start
- Open the NHS Volunteering website and read its section on the types of volunteering.
- Search for opportunities by postcode and note two or three roles that would fit your week.
- Apply to one and ask the organisation what checks and induction it requires.
Where to go
We opened this link on 8 October 2026 and found it to be what we say. Dates, places and prices are on the official page, where they stay up to date.
Plan this
Pick a day, or a month, and we will set out how to get ready, step by step, with a date and a reason for each. A habit needs a fixed slot in the week more than a plan, so the planner gives it one and checks in gently.
