England's longest National Trail runs 630 miles around the South West peninsula, from Minehead in Somerset to Poole Harbour in Dorset. You can take a day walk, a short break or work through the whole path in stages over years.

How to start

  1. Browse the day walks and short breaks on the South West Coast Path Association's site and pick one stretch.
  2. Check the bus or train that will bring you back to your start.
  3. Note the next stretch along, so each walk sets up the one after.
